AUDIO / VISUAL LIVE PERFORMANCE

“Endless Path of Memory” delves into themes of otherness, skilfully arranging a tapestry of reflections and existential exploration, blending field recordings, own archived audio, sampled audio from dialogues from family tapes, granular synthesis, dub underwater sounds.
The compositions echo the universal tones of despair, while others emphasise bliss, encapsulating elements of memory with innovative recording techniques. The rich soundscape, weaving through the realm of harsh sampling and gentle synthesis, requires the listener to explore the boundaries between reality and illusion, while pondering the very essence of our universal desire to belong.
Following the surrealist approach of Nexcyia, the visuals reclaim a space in between the familiar and the unknown: sometimes abstracts, dreamy, sometimes more recognisable but still faded.
While manipulating Nexcyia’s family archive footage with own footage - water streams, fluids and rough metal textures, compositions are created with nuances of blues and greys and browns. Textural and marks are as well incorporated, including the cover of the album itself (designed by Nexcyia and Woody92).
Nexcyia performed a live concert with the visuals at Brakke Grond during FIBER festival 2024.
