AUDIO / VISUAL LIVE PERFORMANCE - IMMERSIVE INSTALLATION
Artistic practice / Research
Among different beings and the environment, natural relationships and forms of symbiosis occur. Mutualism refers to the form of symbiosis where all species involved in the relation profit from the commonality.
As a human being, we are also in constant connection to the natural environment. But our individuality, so strongly present in our neoliberal society, often hinders us in realising that these interconnections are mutual, and fluid.
Bond I – Mutualism introduces a method to experience new forms of perception. Through voice, visuals and sound, the participatory meditation guides the audience to shape-shift, in search of their ways of relating to themselves, others and other beings. Bond I – Mutualism aims to accompany us in the realisation that we are always affected by our surroundings, and forever changing and exchanging.
Bond I - Mutualism was presented both as an immersive audiovisual installation and a live performance.
The visuals combine macro footages of plants, moss and lichens, 3D models / photogrammetry of natural landscapes and elements, FX.
For the performance, the visuals are mixed live and they shape-shift together with the meditation.
The live mixing of the videos generates different outputs everytime, creating more organic and unexpected results.
